Privacy Policy

The short version

The Pitchside works fully offline and never requires a sign in. Your careers live on your phone, and they also back up automatically to the cloud so they survive a lost phone and follow you between iPhone and Android. What we store to make that work: your career data, any custom club images you added, the email address of a linked account, and a random identifier for each phone. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, and we never sell or share any of it for marketing.

Your data lives on your device first

Everything you enter in the app, your saves, squads, matches, transfers, objectives and trophies, lives on your device and the app works entirely without an account. You can also export any career to a file from the save list and keep it wherever you like.

Accounts and cloud backup

The app quietly creates an anonymous account so cloud backup has somewhere to attach, and your careers back up under it automatically when you leave the app, before you ever see a sign in screen. Linking an email address is what makes those backups recoverable: the address becomes the way to sign back in on another phone. Each backup carries your career data, any custom club images you added, and a little bookkeeping: a random identifier for the phone that wrote it, the platform (iPhone or Android) and the app version, so the app can tell your devices apart and refuse a backup from a newer version it cannot read.

We store this data with Supabase, our backend provider, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (the European Union). Supabase processes it on our behalf under their own privacy policy and security practices. Resend, an email delivery service, delivers sign in codes and processes your email address to send the message. On iPhone you can also use Sign in with Apple, in which case Apple handles the sign in under its own privacy policy and can give the app a private relay address instead of your real one. We never see or store a password, because there are none.

Pitchside Pro and promo codes

If you redeem a promo code, we record which code your account redeemed and when, and the date your Pro access ends. That is the entire record.

Network image requests

To show club crests, league logos, trophy renders, player photos and country flags, the app requests publicly available images from three third party services:

• TheSportsDB (thesportsdb.com) for club crests, league logos and trophy images.
• SoFIFA (sofifa.net) for player photos.
• Flagcdn (flagcdn.com) for country flags.

These requests contain only the club, competition or player name or id needed to return the right image. The app sends no personal information. As with any web request, these services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and may log it under their own privacy policies. Your operating system caches the images on your device, so the app keeps working offline after first use.

No tracking, no ads

The app does not track you. It contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and shares no data with third parties for marketing.

Purchases

If you ever buy an upgrade in The Pitchside, the Apple App Store or Google Play processes the entire purchase. We never see your payment details. Apple and Google handle payment under their own terms and privacy policies. During the beta nothing is for sale: Pro is free with a promo code.

Past beta signups on this website

Earlier versions of thepitchsideapp.com had a beta signup form. If you used it, we still hold the email address and platform choice you submitted, in Netlify Forms, and Resend sent you a single welcome email. We only email you about the beta. To unsubscribe or have your signup deleted, email hello@thepitchsideapp.com and we will remove it.

Children

The Pitchside is suitable for all ages. It holds whatever you type or add to a career, including any custom images, and backs that up to the cloud, plus the email address of a linked account. Children should not link an email address or add photos of themselves without a parent or guardian.

Retention and deletion

You are in full control, and the app has deletion built in:

• On your device: deleting a save inside the app, or deleting the app itself, removes the local data permanently.
• In the cloud: once you have linked an email, open Settings, tap your account, and choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your email address, every cloud backup and any Pro record, on the spot. Careers stored on your phone stay untouched.
• Your copy: exporting a career to a file from the save list gives you a complete copy of your data at any time.

We keep cloud data only while your account exists. Once you uninstall the app or sign out, a backup that belongs to an account you never linked is out of reach for good, and we routinely delete these orphaned backups from the server. If you prefer, you can also email hello@thepitchsideapp.com and we will delete a linked account for you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version at this address with a new date at the top.
